The guys in Aandssløw were feeling a bit emotionally drained from the depressive tracks we’re rehearsing for the upcoming Christmas album. They asked if we could do a popular summer hit instead—with danceable rhythms, romance, and something that sounds familiar. A little lift in the mood, please.

At first, I hesitated. Aandssløw as a pop band? Come on, guys. But then it hit me—maybe there’s something in it.

– Romance? How about something with birdsong? Blackbirds, for example?

They thought that was just perfect. A black bird fit the vibe nicely.

– Come back in an hour and we’ll record.

– Does it take a whole hour to come up with a pop song?

– No, but I need to go catch a blackbird first.

The thing is, this gave me a chance to do a bit of research. Scientists have started using AI to interpret what different animals are saying to each other. And I’m deeply curious about what those creatures have to shout about so early in the morning. So—ChatGPT to the rescue. Maybe this little project could even inspire some song lyrics..?

Hold onto your hats and contact lenses. This is not exactly Paul McCartney’s blackbird we’re talking about here.
